churchill fellows' associations
The Churchill Fellows’ Associations (CFAs) are alumni associations for Churchill Fellows and their roles include:
- maintaining contact between Churchill Fellows
- the organisation of social events for Churchill Fellows
- encouraging suitable applicants to apply for a Churchill Fellowship
- assisting with the orientation of new Churchill Fellows
- promotion of the Churchill Fellowships and The Winston Churchill Memorial Trust in general
- assisting Churchill Fellows visiting Australia from other countries
There are currently seven CFAs with the eighth and final CFA for the Northern Territory hopefully to be established in the near future. Most CFAs produce newsletters and maintain websites in order to keep in touch with their members.
The Board of Directors and the National Office of the Trust holds in high regard the work undertaken by the CFAs. The CFAs are fundamental to the operation of the Churchill Trust and it is gratifying to see those Australians who have been assisted by the Trust - via the award of a Fellowship - give so much back to the Trust through their contribution to the CFAs. In recognition of the important role played by the alumni organisations the Board of the Trust provides them with a generous level of financial support.
A national convention of Churchill Fellows is held every second year and is hosted on a rotational basis by the CFAs. The next convention is scheduled for 19-21 October 2012 in Perth and is being hosted by the Churchill Fellows' Association of Western Australia.
If you are a Churchill Fellow and wish to re-establish contact with a CFA in your State or Territory please use the links below to get in touch with the current committee members. Alternatively you may wish to contact the National Office.
