Seeking our new ACT Regional Secretary 

We are seeking to fill the role of ACT Regional Secretary at the Winston Churchill Trust.

As a key member of our team, the role of ACT Secretary is responsible for providing administrative support to our State and Territory Regional Committees, overseeing the Fellowship selection process in the ACT, and ensuring smooth communication with applicants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer the first stage review process for Fellowship applications
  • Coordinate interviews and communicate outcomes to applicants
  • Liaise with Government House, Regional Chairs, and Committee members for award ceremonies
  • Ensure new Panel and Committee members are briefed on their roles
  • Maintain consistency in candidate experience across regions aligned with Trust brand and ethos

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required:

  • Previous administrative experience is essential
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team


  • Writing and Reporting: Ability to write clearly and convincingly, avoiding jargon, and structuring information logically
  • Relating and Networking: Establishing effective relationships with stakeholders, managing conflicts, and building networks
  • Analysing: Proficiency in analyzing data, identifying patterns, and generating workable solutions
  • Following Instructions and Procedures: Adherence to instructions, procedures, and schedules, demonstrating commitment to the organisation

General Conditions:

  • All Churchill staff are required to undergo a police check and maintain the lawful right to work in Australia.
  • Adherence to the organisation’s policies and procedures is mandatory.

The casual role is approximately 10-15 hours per fortnight mainly through May to July each year. Payment is $50 per application plus a $3,000 retainer fee.
