Creating Impact: Webinar Series for Churchill Fellows


Are you keen to share what you discovered on your Fellowship far and wide? 

Communicating what you’ve learned is one of the best ways to make a real impact with your findings, but how do you do it?

In partnership with Lumin, we are pleased to launch a series of webinars in 2019 available to all Churchill Fellows focussing on the theme IMPACT.

Lumin provides actionable, self-directed training courses to help you build the skills you need to successfully communicate, market yourself and effectively engage with stakeholders to secure understanding, funding, and support.

When you sign up to one of these webinars you will also receive a week of complimentary access to Lumin to get up to speed before the session.

You’ll take away insights around how to create measurable change, be targeted in action, share the story of your Fellowship and take your journey further. Every session will include a 30 minute presentation and 30 minutes of question time. The team invites you to prepare any questions you have for insights and feedback. Alongside each webinar, Lumin will provide resources to assist every attendee in building their own plan, narrative and pitch.

These webinars are being delivered as a series so we encourage you to register for all 4 webinars to ensure a complete learning experience (details and registration links below). You are, of course, welcome to register to single webinars should you wish to. 

**Please note we will be recording these webinar sessions. If you are a Fellow who is hearing impaired or you cannot make the session time, please register for the session. We will email a copy of the recording (including a transcription) to all registrants following the webinar.


WEBINAR 1 | Planning and evaluation for success

Looking at the overall theme of impact - Think HQ and Lumin Founder Jen Sharpe and Director of Business Development Jane Emery will take you through:

  • The importance of planning,
  • How to set goals and objectives,
  • Choosing tactics,
  • Impact vs. outcomes,
  • Evaluating impact.

WEBINAR 2 | Crafting research for greater impact

Date: Wednesday 5 June, 2019

What does it mean to make research accessible to the broader population of Australia? Think HQ Account Director Stefan Delatovic will demonstrate how to:

  • Select the most interesting or relevant elements of your Fellowship research,
  • Target a specific audience,
  • Build a narrative from your research,
  • Find the right words to cut through.

WEBINAR 3 | Designing the pitch for your research

Pitching your research can be a daunting task, but we are equipped to help you feel confident sharing your stories with people who can increase your impact. Think HQ Director Aaron McNeilly will take you through:

  • What it means to engage with stakeholders,
  • How to refine your ask,
  • How to structure your pitch.

WEBINAR 4 | How to Stand Out from the Crowd Using LinkedIn

We invite all Fellows to join our final webinar in the series on how to best leverage a network on LinkedIn through strategic profile building.

Led by Think HQ digital marketing strategist, Louisa Moy the session will provide the groundwork for effective thought leadership and outreach pieces. It will also provide the opportunity to ask questions and learn insights on best practice approaches across this increasingly important social media channel. The webinar will equip Fellows with smart advice and skills to easily improve your digital footprint.
