Angela Ryan featured image

Angela Ryan is Vice Chair and Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Digital Health (AIDH), Fellow of the Australian College of Nursing and formerly the Australian Digital Health Agency’s Chief Clinical Information Officer. Angela has over 30 years’ experience in hospitals and public sector organisations, including more than 14 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse, primarily in paediatric and adult intensive care.


Angela was part of a national team that led Australia’s largest digital health transformation and in 2020 led and delivered Australia’s National Digital Health Workforce & Education Roadmap – a strategy for Australia’s health workforce.


In 2017, Angela was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to study methods to prevent patient harm through better coordinated digital health safety governance and travelled to the UK, USA and Canada. Her published report is an input to government reforms in digital health.


In 2021, Angela was awarded the inaugural 2021 Brilliant Women in Digital Health award, recognised for improving health outcomes using digital health, making a significant impact in the areas of patient safety and the health workforce.
