Anita is a highly experienced researcher, project manager, creator, writer, developer and presenter who thrives on bridging seemingly unrelated fields to find new and unexpected solutions. Anita is an educator working with school children through to teachers, politicians, school leaders and decision makers. While her research expertise is highly specialised in the field of music learning and brain development, her professional expertise is highly generalised in looking at how music learning can enhance human performance. Her work looks to bridge the gap between neuroscience and psychology research and the practice of teaching music, as well as to challenge and improve our understanding of how we learn and the practice of educators at every point in human development. She is the Founder and Director of Muse Consulting, dedicated to finding ideas and making them live. She holds the position of Creative Chair of Learning and Engagement with The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Anita is the lead advisor on the Alberts | Tony Foundation Music Education Initiative “Right from the Start” and a member of the advisory group for the South Australian Music Education Strategy. She is also an active music educator within the Canberra Grammar School where she has held the roles of Assistant Director of Music, Master in Charge of Bands, Classroom Teacher from Years 5-12 and Assistant Housemaster of Hay House as well as Musical Director for various productions over the past 24 years of her career.

In 2022, Anita was a recipient of the Trust's Impact Funding program — an initiative to enhance outcomes of Churchill Fellowships for all industries and sectors. Anita's Impact Funding project will enable her to pilot an audit program for music education in schools, to make it easier for educators to identify areas that need improvement, map out a plan, implement changes and measure improvements.
