Dr Con Berbatis has had a distinguished career spanning commerce, academia, and community leadership, with a strong and enduring commitment to philanthropy and civic engagement. For more than 50 years, he has played a leading role in youth sport, student, and community organisations, particularly within Greek Australian communities across the country.
In the 1970s, Dr Berbatis was involved in the development of medical centres, retail and hospitality assets, and a range of commercial and residential property projects. His commercial portfolio includes the development of the Kardinya and Waterford shopping centres, the acquisition and operation of modern accommodation facilities in Perth, and the redevelopment of landmark properties including the Holiday Inn Perth City Centre and the Esplanade Hotel in Port Hedland.
Alongside his commercial work, Dr Berbatis has made significant contributions to the field of pharmacy. He was a national reporter on international pharmacy research and developments during the 1980s, and has held academic roles as a lecturer and researcher at Curtin University, the University of Sydney, and Monash University.
Dr Berbatis holds a Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Science, Bachelor of Pharmacy, and Bachelor of Science, and is a Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Western Australia.
