Courtney Ryder is an Aboriginal researcher and world leader in the area of Aboriginal health education and has spent the last 10 years revolutionising Aboriginal health education in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Flinders University. In her role as lecturer, she has coordinated large and complex topics pertaining to Aboriginal health, where her leadership and educational innovation has transformed student learning in this space, and been recognised national and internationally. In 2016 Courtney was awarded a NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarship to investigate the trajectory of recovery, quality of life and economic impacts of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families whose children are recovering from a burns injury through the George Institute for Global Health. She is seen as an emerging research leader in Aboriginal injury and rehabilitation as evidenced in the latest NHMRC feature ‘Taking a leap into the Research World.’
