Commander Debra Robertson is in charge of Operations for Western Region, Victoria Police. She has been in Victoria Police for 38 years and is a recipient of the Australia Police Medal for her outstanding contribution to policing, particularly recognising her commitment to diversity employment issues.


Debra has spent much of her police career in criminal and specialist areas and has twice been recognised in the Excellence in Policing awards - for bravery in challenging discriminatory working conditions and for her investigative work.


In 2021 she was seconded to COVID response command and performed the role of Operations Commander for Victoria Police in one of the most dynamic high-risk times of the State of Victoria.


Debra Robertson is a graduate of AICD and in 2021 successfully completed the Boardroom Mastery Course. She is passionate about youth issues and has been President of Blue Light for eight years, rebuilding the reputation and reconnecting with Victoria Police and youth engagement.


Debra is a non-executive board member of BankVic and is devoted to building workplaces where people can not only add value but will be valued.


Debra has been married for 37 years, has three children, and recently became a grandparent. She is extremely proud of her family and through her family she remains well connected to the community and its expectations outside of policing.
