Elspeth Grant is a secondary Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) teacher at Seaton High School in Adelaide. She proudly teaches in the public sector and strives to promote equitable access to high quality history education for all students.

Elspeth had an unusual experience as a Churchill Fellow. She commenced her travel in early 2020 and visited Thailand, Spain, the UK, and Washington DC before coming home early due to COVID. Insights from the first two-thirds of her study tour were captured in an interim report. In 2023, Elspeth finally returned to the US and Canada to complete her Fellowship. Her final report reflects how the world and history education has changed over the past three years.

Elspeth leads educational change from the classroom and through a variety of historical networks. She is an active member of the History Teachers' Association of South Australia and served on its managing committee for ten years, including being their representative on the History Council of SA. In 2020-21, Elspeth was seconded to the SA Department for Education as a curriculum writer and represented SA secondary teachers on ACARA's HASS Teacher Reference Group for the Australian Curriculum Review.

Elspeth was named South Australia's Emerging Historian of the Year in 2013, shortly after completing her Masters of Teaching at the University of South Australia. Prior to becoming a teacher, Elspeth was a museum curator and published academic research. In 2008 she graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Adelaide and was a summer research scholar at the Australian War Memorial.
