I am driven by a belief in the positive influence that music and song can have in our lives. Throughout my career, I've been fascinated by the way that songs bring people together, creating opportunities to share our stories in moving and meaningful ways. Whether working with music students, professional artists, or communities across regional and remote Australia, I've seen how country music songwriting can create real connection and a deep sense of belonging.

My connection to country music was shaped through years of collaborating with First Nations musicians in remote Central Australia. Those experiences showed me how songwriting is a powerful way of maintaining culture and strengthening community. My music making experiences in Central Australia inspired a long-term commitment to collaborative songwriting and to supporting songwriters from all walks of life.

Today, I bring these values into my work as a music educator, songwriter, producer, and community music facilitator. Over the past twenty-five years, I have combined songwriting, education, and community engagement, creating award-winning music with some of the most recognisable names in Australian country music, while remaining dedicated to the mentoring and development of the next generation of Australian storytellers.

In my future work, I am exploring the key challenges that face both emerging and established country songwriters in Australia. With the support of a Churchill Fellowship, I will identify new possibilities and global connections, learning from leading advocacy organisations in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, and identifying the best ways to strengthen Australia's songwriting ecosystem.

My goal is to bring new opportunities to life in Australia, creating exciting pathways for Australian songwriters to connect at the local, national, and international level, to help develop sustainable careers in songwriting, and ultimately to make a lasting contribution to the cultural life of Australia.
