I believe that effective wildlife management programs require a combination of technical and community expertise and experience.
Decisions to control native and introduced animals have social, cultural, ecological and economic impacts, causing varied and at times opposing perceptions of wildlife control.
I have worked with government agencies involved in planning, delivering, assessing and communicating wildlife management and conservation programs. When supporting program delivery as a communications and engagement professional, I heard a diversity of views from across the ACT and witnessed how community values and behaviours can influence program outcomes.
I hold a Bachelor of Environment and Sustainability from the Australian National University and a Graduate Certificate in Environmental Management from Charles Sturt University. To support community engagement and consultation processes, I also hold a Certificate of Engagement from IAP2 Australasia.
