Ian Dicker

I completed a BSc (Forestry) in 1987. I have since worked in fire management roles with NSW Forestry, NSW Rural Fire Service and since March 2002, NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service. I am currently employed as the Team Leader (Fire) for NPWS in Southern Ranges, based from Jindabyne in the Snowy Mountains. Fire operations experience has included many areas of NSW, Victoria Tasmania, USA, Western Canada and Indonesia. I am actively involved in training, particularly in fire aviation roles, which I have been involved in since 1991. In recent years I have taken a lead role in NSW for development and delivery of training in aerial delivery of incendiaries t support fuel reduction and wildfire operations. My Churchill Fellowship study tour was pivotal in the direction of my career in fire aviation. Other roles / expertise include fire and land management planning and fuel reduction burning operations.
