Dr. Jeremy Baldwin is a post-doctoral research fellow specializing in the fields of immunology, vaccine research, cancer immunotherapies and tissue engineering.

Dr. Baldwin was awarded an ANZ board Trustee fellowship in 2014 to undertake a PhD in Tissue Engineering at the Queensland University of Technology. During his PhD studies, he also completed a Master of Research and Development Management as part of the Australian Government’s Commercialisation Training Scheme to train the next generation of entrepreneurial scientists.

Other notable work experiences prior to the conferral of his PhD include an internship at Harvard University to study the processes of research translation, an international research training program at the Tropical Disease Institute, Ecuador, and travelling to Antarctica to raise awareness for renewable energies and climate change. Dr. Baldwin’s 2017 Churchill fellowship focused on the technological and regulatory aspects surrounding cell processing techniques in Europe to develop good practice guidelines and advance Australian cell based therapeutics. In addition to his Churchill Fellowship, Dr. Baldwin has also been awarded a Fulbright Future Fellowship and Endeavour Research Fellowship to further his post-doctoral training in immunology.

During the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Baldwin relocated to Adelaide to work as postdoctoral researcher on the development of a domestic COVID-19 vaccine at Vaxine/Flinders Medical Center, which has since progressed to Phase II/III clinical trials. Currently Dr. Baldwin is a visiting research fellow at the Regensburg Center for Interventional Immunology as part of a CRI Clinic and Laboratory Integration Program aimed at scaling up and translating Australian cancer immunotherapies in the clinic. The knowledge and skills developed during his Churchill Fellowship will be invaluable for both current and future research endeavours.
