John Chesterman is the Queensland Public Advocate, a statutory office that engages in systemic advocacy concerning the rights of adults with impaired decision-making ability. Prior to this John was the Victorian Deputy Public Advocate. John is a former academic, whose books include (as co-author) The Politics of Human Rights in Australia (CUP).
