I’m driven by a belief that children and young people deserve safety, autonomy, and the chance to grow without fear. I’m a queer woman of colour, survivor advocate, and violence prevention practitioner. My work is grounded in lived experiences of fleeing family violence as a newly arrived young migrant, without systemic support. These experiences shape my commitment to advocating for safer futures by focusing on the impacts of intergenerational trauma on family systems.

For the past eight years, I’ve contributed to state and national conversations on child and family safety, Domestic Family Sexual Violence, suicide prevention, and culturally responsive care. I’ve partnered with the not‑for‑profit sector and governments to drive co‑design, policy reform, governance, and strategy through an intersectional lens.

In 2024, I founded Project Chosen Family, a peer‑led initiative that creates culturally safe spaces for youths to explore challenging family dynamics, conflict, and violence within home environments. This work has given me foundational insights into what is still missing in how our system engages and responds to children and young people impacted by family violence early.

Through my Churchill Fellowship, I hope to travel across Asia, Europe, and the Americas to understand the cultural contexts that shape how children and young people talk, or don’t talk, about conflict and violence at home. My goal is to bring back toolkits for early conversation informed by international best practice so Australia can strengthen prevention education models at the point where cycles of violence often begin: within family systems.

My long‑term goal is to shape the national narrative and practice around early intervention. I want to look back and know I have done right by my younger self, and every child and young person who has felt as alone as I did.
