Michael Power is a social worker with over 30 years’ experience in the areas of child protection, family law, support for military personnel and their families, policy, legislation, program development, mental health and working with victims of violent crime. He has a long standing passion for leading service innovation to transform people’s lives for the better. He has done this in the areas of developing group programs in working with: young males involved in sexual offending; high conflict families in the Family Court system; and more recently he has led the development of Australia’s first trial of Restorative Practice in secure and community mental health services. Michael has completed an Honours Degree and Masters in Social Work. He has been employed as a Director in different roles in state and Australian government Departments, for over 15 years, with his current role as the Director, Queensland Health Victim Support Service, Queensland Health.
