Dr Sarah Moulds is an Associate Professor in law at the University of South Australia, editor of the Australasian Parliamentary Review and co-founder and director of the Rights Resource Network SA. She is passionate about parliaments and connecting citizens and communities with law makers. Her most recent book Committees of Influence explores the important role parliamentary committees play in rights protection in Australia. 

 

Dr Moulds is been actively engaged in local, national and international conversations about the role parliaments can and should play in holding governments to account, and how communities and parliaments can work together to plan for a better future for all of us. She is the Deputy Chair of the International Parliamentary Engagement Network, a group that helps connect people to parliaments all around the world.


Dr Moulds has teaching and research interests in the area of public law, human rights, parliamentary process, administrative law and anti-discrimination law. She loves learning from her students – and her three children - about how young people can work together to help shape a fairer, smarter and more compassionate Australia. 


Dr Moulds' career has a strong law reform focus and includes seven years at the Law Council of Australia including as Director of Criminal Law and Human Rights. She also served as a Senior Project Officer at the South Australian Law Reform Institute where she helped deliver a wide range of legislative reforms that promote equality and protect human rights. 


In 2019 Dr Moulds' PhD Thesis was awarded a University of Adelaide Doctoral Research Medal. She also holds a Masters of Comparative Law, Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Bachelor of International Studies.
