Sian Spencer is a physiotherapist who works with children. She is also an avid rock climber. After realising the underutilised rehabilitatative benefits of rock climbing she became motivated to build the profile of paraclimbing (sport climbing for people with impairment) in Australia.
Sian is very involved in the development of paraclimbing internationally. She is a member of the International Federations of Sport Climbing Paraclimbing Commitee and is the Head of Classification for paraclimbing. Following her Churchill Fellowship she is now an accredited international classifier for paraclimbing. Her long-term involvement as a head judge for climbing competitions at a state and national level has allowed her to establish a network of Australians equally eager to see the growth in paraclimbing.
