Tessa Neilson's passion is to work within the areas of increasing the mental health supports for young adults with cancer.
Tessa is both a cancer survivor and doctor working in psychiatry and her Fellowship fueled this passion.
Tessa has a degree in Medicine from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Music Studies in piano performance from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Tessa is also an actor and writer.
Tessa is currently completing her psychiatry training with the intent to ultimately work specifically within young adult oncology and cancer surivorship support systems. She is also intending on studying a Masters of Narrative Medicine through Columbia University - an evolving field that combines the powerful narrative skills of radical listening and creativity from the humanities and to empower the voice of patients to be heard and valued.
