Dr Toby Heap is a Founding Partner of H2 Ventures, a venture capital firm that has made over 50 investments in data, artificial intelligence, and fintech startups.


He is a member of the boards of process mapping and execution startup Zemble, and equity crowd-funding platform Equitise. He has also been a member of the board of the Cancer Council NSW, and the President of the Alumni Council of the University of Sydney.


Dr Heap previously founded several digital startups, was a Research Fellow at The University of Sydney, and was a member of numerous business, government and non-profit sector boards and committees in the technology, finance, health, and education industries. He graduated from The University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science, a Master of Commerce, and a PhD in thermal physiology and artificial neural networks.


Dr Heap was awarded a Churchill Fellowship in 2017 and an Eisenhower Fellowship in 2018 to study innovation and entrepreneurship across Europe, Asia and the United States.
