Colin Allen-Waters, from Queensland, was awarded a James Love Churchill Fellowship in 2005 to explore strategies for ensuring teenage education is valued and is successful for communities, schools and the students. He travelled to Finland, Norway, Ireland and England, noting the climate of energy and optimism in the successful schools, such as Norway, with its strong belief in equal access to education, and Ireland, another country that highly values education and its benefits.
