The James Love Churchill Fellowship to research endangered river turtle conservation projects and enterprises that are community based and multi-faceted - Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Brazil, United Arab Emirates

Recommendations
Incorporate and create cultural experiences which involve the community as part of increasing awareness of the need to protect turtles, eg ‘turtle’ lantern parade. Explore ways to involve children and craft. Simple nest monitoring methods encourage community participation and easy to interpret. Increase utilisation of the internet and web. Investigate importing handicraft eg turtle patterned batik, from Turtle Conservation Project in Sri Lanka with profits benefiting turtle conservation in both countries.
