Karen Burke Da Silva investigated science-teaching methods for undergraduates at various universities in New Zealand, the United States and Canada. Karen discovered that in the US and Canada it is now mandatory for all university students to take at least one semester of science, where they learn such useful information as how to use the scientific method to analyse media reports of scientific stories. Karen returned to enrich her students at Adelaide’s Flinders University with what she had learned.
