The Jack Brockhoff Foundation Churchill Fellowship to investigate medical research commercialisation & innovation initiatives - USA, Germany & Singapore

Highlights

Learning about different aspects of medical research commercialisation across USA, Germany and Singapore. In particular pharmaceutical development processes in Philadelphia, entrepreneurship and commercialisation in Washington DC, industry-academic research institutes in Frankfurt and government led industry development programs in Singapore.

Major Lessons and Conclusions

Australia is among the top countries in the world for medical research and scientific discoveries. By steering our world class scientific expertise and infrastructure to deliver improved commercialisation of our medical research, substantial health and economic benefits will be achieved for Australians. Public and private investment in commercialisation, enhanced education programs, support for industry-engaged academics and effective communication strategies to engage the community are critical steps to realising improvements in the Australian medical research commercialisation ecosystem.
