Conclusions and Recommendations
It is commonly heard throughout our community, media and political discourse that these are challenging times, and I’m sure many feel the greatest challenges are yet to be faced. The story of the Austronesian’s is not simply academic, of interest to professors to write papers about and argue the structure of language, or the migration of musical instruments; it is the cultural foundations of one of the world’s great civilisations, a story that resonates through thousands of years of cultural development, informing the actions, expressions and identity of our region, a region in the front line of these global challenges.
It is my recommendation is that we learn about our regions history at school, as it should be part of our national psyche.
I am doing my bit, and when I have finished my film, one of the venues I will show it will be schools, where I will also share my person knowledge and experiences with the Austronesian Culture.
