50th Anniversary Events and Exhibitions around Australia

Our Churchill Fellows' Associations will be holding the following events around Australia in 2015 and 2016 to celebrate the life and legacy of Sir Winston Churchill.

Each event is designed to capture the spirit of Sir Winston Churchill by highlighting the achievements of Churchill Fellows over our 50 year history, and by sharing this extraordinary international research opportunity with new audiences, see his legacy continue to grow long into the future.

Remembrance Week Churchill Chats [Public Event]
Floriade Festival
Canberra ACT

ACT Churchill Fellows from the ACT Churchilll Fellows' Association will present a series of talks, audio-visual displays and information sessions exploring the theme of ‘remembrance’, which will link the work of the Fellows with the ongoing Anzac Centenary and the institutions and attractions of the wider ACT region.  

All visitors to Floriade are welcome to visit the Churchill Trust exhibition that will run throughout the week of 13-20 September.

Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra Rule Britannia [Public Event]

The Churchill Fellows' Association of Tasmania is a media partner with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra’s Rule Britannia event. This event brings favourite British patriotic numbers in one smashing concert that will highlight Sir Winston Churchill.

National Convention of Churchill Fellows [Invitation Only]
Government House, Parliament House, Sydney Mint, Sydney Harbour, Taronga Zoo, Christ Church St Laurence

The 50th Anniversary National Convention of Churchill Fellows is a special occasion for Churchill Fellows and those people closely connected with the Churchill Trust to come together and celebrate this significant milestone.

The Convention provides a unique opportunity for Fellows to present their Fellowship work, sharing knowledge and insights with their peers to reveal new ways of contributing, collaborating and innovating in their field of expertise.

This special 50th Anniversary Convention will also be a time to remember, with admiration and gratitude, Sir Winston Churchill, the great world leader, in whose memory the Churchill Trust was established.

Cocktail Reception [Invitation Only]
The Red Rotunda Gallery 7:00-9:00pm
The State Library of Victoria

A short documentary will be screened to celebrate the establishment of the Trust and the work of the Trust over the past 50 years at a cocktail reception at the Red Rotunda, an elegant gallery featuring 19th century portraits of well-known Victorians including William Buckley and Governor La Trobeb.

With a focus on entertainment, this event will feature Fellows whose Fellowships centre around Arts and Entertainment. 

Entry will be free for the community for people of all ages.
