If you have a great idea and lot of passion for a project that will benefit Australia then apply for a Churchill Fellowship now!

A Churchill Fellowship is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel overseas to meet and learn from industry and community leaders in your field and then return to make your project a reality.

There is no prescribed degree or qualifications required and more than 4000 Australians from all walks of life have been awarded a Churchill Fellowship over the past 50 years.

Today applications open for the next 100 deserving recipients of the prestigious award, which is offered through the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust.

CEO of the Churchill Trust, Adam Davey said that while the Fellowship projects have endless areas of focus, what each Fellow has in common is their ambition to implement change, and improve our society.

“Churchill Fellows are from all walks of life and their projects span every discipline, from architects to truck drivers, people studying fishing techniques to others trying to cure cancer,” said Mr Davey.

“The thing they have in common is that they saw the Churchill Fellowships as an opportunity to see the world and gather knowledge that will ultimately contribute to a better Australia.

“It can be a life-changing and door opening experience, giving ordinary people unprecedented access to experts leading the world in every field imaginable.

“Each Fellowship project is unique – we are looking for applicants with a deep seated passion to seek out knowledge, who possess an internal drive to translate what they learn into something bigger and better.

“Whether you are interested in Indigenous education or improving outcomes for diabetes patients, farming, art history or social justice – if you can show your project will provide benefits to the community, you could be one of our 2017 Fellows.”

Mr Davey said he encourages all Australians to take on the chance to change their world, by crossing the globe in search of new ideas and returning ready to share their knowledge.

“Filling out that application could be the start of a new adventure. The possibilities are limitless, so apply for a Churchill Fellowship today,” he said.

Last year 106 Churchill Fellowships were awarded with a combined value of over $2.7 million.
