Following an extensive national and international search, the University of Western Sydney has appointed Ms Linda Taylor as its new Pro Vice-Chancellor (International).
A public policy expert with 20 years experience working across industry, government and the education sectors, Ms Taylor joins the University from the Industry and Innovation Branch of NSW Trade and Investment, where she is currently Acting Director.
In this role she has been responsible for delivering key international education initiatives for NSW, including priorities identified in the International Education and Research Industry Action Plan.
Ms Taylor was also the recipient of a prestigious Churchill Fellowship, where she conducted research in India, Germany and the UK on industry-research collaboration and commercialisation.
UWS Vice-Chancellor, Professor Barney Glover, says Ms Taylor’s appointment is a critical one for the University as UWS looks to expand its international horizons and profile.
“Linda will bring a wealth of experience to the role, particularly her strengths in supporting the international education and research sectors in NSW by building networks, facilitating industry and research partnerships, and developing programs that attract investment to the state,” says Professor Glover.
