Travel the world for free with $20K research grant
10 Jan 2014
TERRITORIANS are being encouraged to apply for the Churchill Fellowships which every year see more than 100 Australians awarded a travel grant worth an average of $20,000 each.
Recipients of the Churchill Fellowship receive funding for accommodation and travel overseas for a period of six to eight weeks to gather information in their field of work or endeavour and return to share their findings.
All Australian citizens aged over 18 are invited to apply and require no prescribed qualifications, with limitless options for their project's proposal, provided a benefit to Australia is evident.
Fellowship funding stems from the "Churchill Memorial Sunday" doorknock appeal held in Australia almost five decades ago, which proved the greatest one-day doorknock in Australian history, with donations from Government and Australian companies totalling $4,412,000.
Applications close in mid-February for travel between September 1, 2014 and August 31, 2015.
Further information and an application package can be obtained online from www.churchilltrust.com.au or by calling (02) 6247 8333.
