New South Wales Churchill Fellow Joanne Lane is featured in Winston’s Harvest, a national video series from the Winston Churchill Trust Australia showcasing Australians applying global knowledge to local challenges.
Through her Churchill Fellowship, Lane explored international kelp farming and seaweed aquaculture models to investigate how a sustainable kelp industry could be established in Australia. Her research identified opportunities to support regional economies, strengthen marine ecosystems and contribute to more sustainable food production.
The Winston’s Harvest series highlights how Churchill Fellows are turning international research and practical learning into real-world outcomes for Australian communities, industries and the environment.
