The Chair of the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust, David Trebeck, has announced that he has received the resignation of the Trust’s CEO, Dr Rachael Coghlan, which he has accepted with regret.
Rachael commenced her appointment at the beginning of this year with enthusiasm and energy, quickly meeting with the Trust’s major stakeholders and planning a number of initiatives to build on the work of her predecessor, Adam Davey.
As part of this, Rachael visited the office of the UK Churchill Trust, Churchill College at Cambridge University and a number of other sites in England associated with Sir Winston, including Chartwell and Blenheim Palace.
However, Rachael has decided to pursue other opportunities which provide greater alignment with her career strengths, and we wish her well in her next role.
In departing the Trust, Rachael wishes to pass on her well wishes to all staff, Fellows and other stakeholders who make up the Churchill Fellow ecosystem. She has been nourished by the optimism and spirit of all members of “the Churchill Family”.
For the immediate future, the Trust’s Finance Manager, Sally Campbell will assume the role of Acting CEO, pending the Board’s decision on next steps.
