How can we prevent social isolation in people with dementia? How can we create communities where people with dementia are included not stigmatised? This project will answer these questions investigating novel ways of supporting communication and holding people with dementia in connection. Connection with self, as well as with people, places, activities and roles important to them. I will learn through conversations with dementia experts, including people with dementia and their families, and by observing creative programs in action, uncovering strategies that preserve relationships, reframe thinking about dementia, and foster inclusion. Impact measures will also be investigated to drive systemic change.
