For African-Australian artists, it is rare to see our stories authentically represented in Australian galleries, museums and institutions. Our community is often forgotten in the canon of Australian art and there are few safe spaces for us to exist. This inspired my visit to London in 2024, a scene advanced in multicultural community building. Here I experienced some of the city’s busiest art clubs. Designed to uplift and upskill multicultural youth, with further iterations in Ireland, France, Netherlands and Australia, the latter started by myself this year. I would like to reconnect with the broader art club community to uplift our artists here.
