This project will improve my knowledge of translating compounds from Australia’s unique flora and fauna into new or improved therapeutics. While Australia excels in understanding the natural function and activity of these compounds, we currently lack the expertise to commercialise our findings. I will address this gap by directly engaging with leading international institutions utilising established methods and advanced technologies that are not currently available domestically. By forging international connections and sharing the acquired knowledge, this project will improve Australia’s capacity to develop new nature-derived medicines for treating emerging, resistant, or currently untreatable global diseases.
