To investigate best practices in teaching mathematics that provide best outcomes for all students

The project aim is to investigate and identify best practice methods in teaching primary school mathematics. The focus will be on how mathematics is taught in countries that consistently perform well in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), and evidence-based teaching methods. The project will concentrate on primary school education, ages 5 - 12. The project will investigate: *Each country's curriculum and teaching methodologies *Documentation available to teachers for planning and assessment *Teacher training *Explicit Direct Instruction in teaching mathematics *Mathematics in the early years *Assessment practices *Intervention programs - at what stage are they implemented
