To learn how other countries prioritise international kinship placements for children in care featured image
Few children in care have the option of an international family placement and there is a lack of policies to support international family finding. Systemic racial and ethnic biases also create significant barriers for children of multicultural backgrounds, making it more challenging for them to achieve permanency with family. I will learn how other countries prioritise family placements, ensuring the process is equitable, free from bias, and maximises familial opportunities. I also seek to explore the benefits, best practices, and challenges associated with international and local kinship care, with the goal of identifying approaches that support equitable and effective permanency solutions for all children.
