To study how theatres reach representation and cultural dexterity in hierarchy, programming and development featured image

By percentage theatre industries in the UK and US have twice the number of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) on staff than Australia. Diverse people are appointed to lead companies on a monthly basis(Hussain Arts Council England). They have developed culturally sensitive practices for new work allowing writers a safe space to grow plays. They are further along the path in making theatre reflective of our world. I will focus on the experiences of BIPOC artists as it will show what is happening in their industries, revealing the mechanisms of change and steps we can take to become a more representative here. I am a white producer I am in a position and have the responsibility to learn how to enact change
