GWYN ROBERTS

The recipient of a Churchill Fellowship in 1974 as Musical Director of the Tasmanian Youth Orchestra, Gwyn Roberts (1974) was also principal cello of the TSO, and subsequently the Musical Director of the Queensland University Symphony Orchestra as a Senior Lecturer at UQ.
Recently the principal cellist of the Canberra Symphony, and guest Associate Principal cello with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Gwyn also performs in solo andchamber music concerts in Australia.
Gwyn’s early music studies were with Sela Trau, Jan Sedivka and Christopher Bunting, and he is currently active as a musician in Queensland. Current projects include early cello history in Australia, photography, and recording together with his wife, pianist Jenni Flemming.
