To better understand how communities around the world are reducing and ending street homelessness featured image

There are a growing number of communities around the world that are not just reducing, but in many instances, ending rough sleeping homelessness. Using data, these communities have changed how local homeless systems work and the impact they can achieve. In the USA twelve communities have ended homelessness for a population group by reaching a standard called ‘Functional Zero’. More than half of those communities have achieved reductions in the number of people experiencing chronic and/or veterans homelessness. I used my Fellowship to better understand, in detail, how these and other communities are doing this and set out my thoughts on how this approach can be effectively implemented in Australia.
