Tarnanthi Festival

Tarnanthi (pronounced tar-nan-dee) is a continuous celebration of contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art, established by the Art Gallery of South Australia (AGSA).

It presents exhibitions at AGSA and on tour, artist talks and performances, an annual fair, a groundbreaking education program and major highlight – the bi-annual Tarnanthi Festival.

Tarnanthi 2023 (20 Oct -21 Jan 2024) is a statewide festival across dozens of venues around South Australia, showcasing the latest contemporary works by hundreds of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists from across the continent.

It’s an occasion where everyone can experience Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art in all its diversity. The full program includes artist and curator talks, workshops, film, music and performances.
