The NRMA-ACT Road Safety Trust was established in 1992 with the objective of enhancing road safety for the benefit of ACT road users.

Since 1992 the Road Safety Trust has supported over 300 road safety projects and has forged ties with the Churchill Trust to help meet this objective. Initially offered every second year the Road Safety Trust now offers Churchill Fellowships on an annual basis.

Priority is given to residents of the ACT for this award, however, it will be extended to a suitable applicant in another State/Territory of Australia if an ACT applicant is not found suitable as long as the Fellowship project proposed has benefit applicable to the ACT and elsewhere in Australia.
