About Us

The Churchill Fellows Association of Tasmania (CFAT) is an association run by an elected management committee comprising President, Secretary, Treasurer and usually four to five committee members.

The committee meets monthly and encourages communication by email. We welcome committee members from all parts of Tasmania.

Our Vision

To encourage and support Tasmanians to apply for Churchill Fellowships and to communicate with all Tasmanian Churchill Fellows, whether at home or abroad and to promote friendship and networking.

Our aims and objectives

  • To promote the Churchill Fellowship to all Tasmanians and provide information to potential applicants;
  • To welcome and support new Fellows;
  • To provide opportunities for Fellowship and networking with other Fellows;
  • To encourage Churchill Fellows to disseminate their Fellowship findings.

Life Members

George Brown AM, LLB – (deceased 2014)
George undertook his fellowship in 1978 to study Early Tasmanian Artists.

Elvie Munday OAM – Executive Officer Winston Churchill Trust, 1961 – 1992. Elvie assisted nearly 2500 Churchill Fellows with their travel arrangements, reports and hundreds of other aspects of their study.

Roger McNeice OAM – Life membership granted 2004
Roger undertook his fellowship in 1984 to study Coin Conservation. he has held various committee and officer positions with CFAT, including Vice President and President.

Patricia Corby – Life membership granted 2009
