Freya is a senior lawyer and environmental enthusiast. Freya believes soil and landscape management are key to mitigating heat and stabilising our climate. She is passionate about implementing better soil and landscape regulation into Australia’s policy and legal frameworks.
At work, Freya leads the regulatory team, advising on complex and sensitive legal questions concerning our environment and natural resources, and regulatory issues in the context of major projects. Freya's strength is in being able to explain complex issues of statutory interpretation in plain, pragmatic and commercial terms.
In 2017 Freya won the Australian Lawyers Alliance Civil Justice Award for her work on the Montara Oil Spill, and in 2019 she was a finalist for the Lawyers Weekly Women in Law Awards. She is also a published author: Ground Breaking - Soil Security and Climate Change.
Freya has a Bachelor of Arts in Media with a Bachelor of Laws from Macquarie University, and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University. Freya is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Company Directors Course.
