Julie is an Educational and Developmental Psychologist from Adelaide. She has a long history of working with children with intellectual disability and autism and their families. She has a particular interest in children with disabilities who have experienced adverse life experiences and are in the foster care system. She has worked for government, non government and education settings and also has her own consultancy and child therapy resources publishing business Dealing in Feelings.


In 2007 Julie was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to study therapeutic foster care programs for children with disabilities in the USA, UK, Netherlands and Finland. After she returned from her Fellowship, Julie was employed by a large Non Government organisation in SA, to establish their first therapeutic foster care program.
