Justin Morrissey featured image

Justin Morrissey is an multiplatform producer, curator and writer working primarily in the intersection of visual arts and performance. He holds an Advanced Diploma in Screen and Media, Multiplatform Producing, Metroscreen and a Master of Creative Industries with Distinction from Western Sydney University. His work is broadcast credited, and has several documentary awards, including the Chauvel Award at the Brisbane International Film Festival, Best Arts Documentary, for his film ‘Not a Willing Participant’.


In 2020 he received a Churchill Fellowship to examine how social innovation in creative programming direction mobilises civic engagement and to identify the needs of emerging creative cities and set priorities for action at home.


His current multiplatform artwork involves the study of human movement entitled ‘what makes us kick’. The work is a cross-cultural study on unconscious body language. His artwork is held in private collections and has exhibited at Sculpture by the Sea and the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre. His work reflects upon nature and the human constructed environment, quite often fascinated with how we perceive the world through technology. Justin held the position of Exhibition Manager and Curator at Sculpture at Scenic World from 2015 to 2020 and formerly worked in the technical team for Sculpture by the Sea.
