Kathleen Christopherson has been a lawyer with the Queensland Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions since 2008 and has worked as a legal officer, prosecutor and legal practice manager in Brisbane, Ipswich, Toowoomba and the Gold Coast. She has a particular interest in domestic and family violence and coercive control and the role that prosecutors can play in keeping victims safe and holding perpetrators to account.
She recently returned from a secondment to the Secretariat of the Women’s Safety and Justice Taskforce – and independent, consultative taskforce that was established by the Queensland Government to examine: 1. coercive control and review the need for a specific offence of domestic violence 2. the experience of women across the criminal justice system
She is currently the Project Manager for Taskforce Implementation at the ODPP. |
