Kellie Dickerson was a Musician, Conductor, and Pianist. She held a Bachelor of Music (Honours), Piano Performance from Sydney University, and was a member of the Symphony Australia Young Conductor’s Programme. She was the recipient of the Donald Peart Memorial Award for Music, the Brian Stacey Memorial Trust Scholarship for Young Conductors, three Green Room Awards for Musical Direction of Wicked, Once, and City of Angels, and the Churchill Fellowship (musical direction of original works).
Kellie was awarded an OAM in the 2022 Australia Day honours for service to the performing arts industry. She held the position of Resident Musical Supervisor for Wicked Australia and Musical Director, Once Australia and managed the Rob Guest Endowment a scholarship program.
She was also on industry panels for the Helpmann Awards, the Australia Council, the New Musicals Australia, and consults for the Australian Music Examinations Board musical theatre syllabus.
Kellie has conducted music theatre and opera all over the world. She was truly one of the most prolific musical directors in the country with credits such as Wicked, Legally Blonde, Fiddler on the Roof and The Book of Mormon.
In 2018 Kellie was diagnosed with Multiple system atrophy (MSA) – a rare neurodegenerative disease that affects the autonomic system functions – and retired from her busy career in musical theatre.
