Matthew is a teacher and researcher who specialises in ethics, evidence-based criminology, and creating misconduct resistant organisational cultures. He has previously taught philosophy as a sessional academic at the University of Sydney and the University of Wollongong. From 2015 – 2018 he was an Adjunct Professor in Business Ethics and Leadership at the University of Notre Dame Australia. Since 2013, he has been an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the Australian Graduate School of Policing and Security, Charles Sturt University.

 

During his Churchill Fellowship research, Matthew spent eight weeks visiting police agencies in the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada to research the training they provide to staff and recruits in ethical decision-making and misconduct prevention.
