Pete Williams is a highly experienced, well-respected health care professional having worked in the Australian health care industry for more than 30 years. He is a registered nurse, gaining his initial qualification in health science, followed by postgraduate qualifications including a Graduate Certificate in Aged Care, Masters of Clinical Education and Masters of Business Administration. 


Currently the CEO for OneCare Limited, a large not-for-profit aged care provider in Tasmania supporting over 1000 consumers in residential, home care and independent living, Pete has dedicated more than half of his career to aged care. He was requested to appear at the Aged Care Royal Commission Hearings in Tasmanian for his expertise in aged care Governance and risk management. Pete has worked across the country including Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania in all sectors of health including hospitals, community and aged care.  


Pete’s professional experiences also include working as an accreditation assessor with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) and the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC). He is currently collaborating with the Aged Care Commission on an adverse event management tool he co-designed specific to aged care.


Pete has published two journal articles and presented at several Australian healthcare conferences on health service reengineering, adverse event management, accreditation preparation and leadership. He is a nominated speaker at the Aged & Community Care Providers Association (ACCPA) national conference in Adelaide in October 2022 and was recently appointed as chairperson for the September 2022 Aged Care Quality, Safety and Risk Forum, held in Sydney. 


Pete has a strong interest in nurse-led research, aged care system improvements and a deep connection with the philosophy of servant leadership with a proven track record in building a positive workplace culture where equality, respect, transparency and authenticity are able to thrive.
