BSc, BApp Sci (Physio), MPhysio (Neurological Physiotherapy), MAPA, Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction

Phil is originally from Melbourne, moving to Hobart in 1992 to provide Physiotherapy to the community (& indulge in his love of the great outdoors!).

He has a passion for the utilisation of education and movement based therapy as a means of engaging, motivating and empowering clients in optimising their health and function and achieving their goals.

Following 2 years of postgraduate study in Neurological Physiotherapy in Melbourne, Phil returned to his spiritual home here in 2000, founding & providing rehabilitation physiotherapy services to the Tasmanian community.

As a 2020 Churchill Fellow Phil will be exploring ways to maximise recovery from neurological injury & disease, through the utilisation of biotechnology including virtual reality, robotics and other neuroplasticity enhancing devices.

After receiving a SARRAH grant in 2008, Phil studied rehabilitation Pilates and has since integrated this method into his work with clients with Neurological conditions, persistent pain, vestibular & balance disorders and general deconditioning.

He has also mentored and educated with Polestar Pilates Australia, teaching courses throughout Australia, as well as lecturing in Neuroscience for Health Science students at the University of Tasmania (UTAS).

Phil also loves immersing in nature with family, regularly engaging in bushwalking, mountain biking & surfing adventures.
